Star School SAASTA Success

Our learners at Star International Primary had the privileged of writing the SAASTA Natural Science Olympiad. The aim of this Pretoria based agency aims to advance public awareness, appreciation and engagement of science, engineering and technology in South Africa.

The challenge is open to all grade 4-7 learners in all the provinces and the results were celebrated at a lavish ceremony in Pretoria on 25th October 2013. This year M.Irshaad Hoosain in grade 6 was awarded 3rd position nationally, which was a momentous achievement for him as well as for our school. He also received the following gifts:

  • A certificate of achievement
  • A bronze medal
  • A glass engraved trophy
  • A sling-bag with a logo
  • A flask
  • A Samsung Galaxy 10.1 inch Tab2

In addition to these awesome gifts; learners were also taken on a guided tour of the Pretoria National Zoological Gardens and enjoyed first class accommodation at the Holiday Inn.

A huge thank you goes out to SAASTA for creating a platform for our learners to excel, the sponsors for arranging stunning gifts and to our learners for putting in so much effort and being committed to Science excellence. We commend everyone’s input and hope that next year many more Star learners will be able to attend the prize-giving ceremonies.
